Davis Music Academy
Group Policy Information

We are so excited to have your student join us for group lessons!  Here are a few items of business!

Tuition Payment:
-Tuition is due by the 1st of each month.
-There will be a late fee of $5 or 10% of the statement total (whichever is greater) for tuition not received by the 10th of month.
-$20 Declined Payment Fee.
-Statements will be emailed if amount due is different than your regular monthly tuition payment amount.
-You will be required to pay all collections costs and reasonable attorney’s fees on unpaid balances should collection become necessary.
We bill our tuition equally every month. We take all of our fees for a year and combine them. This includes tuition for 11 months, materials, and registration. Then we divide that out over 12 monthly payments equally.

The monthly fees are as follows:
  • $58 for young toddler classes, with a $25 Start Up Fee
  • $78 for older toddler classes, with a $35 Start Up Fee
  • $88 a for our core group classes, with a $50 Start up Fee
This means that when they need a new book you will not have pay additional money for the book. It is already built in to your monthly cost. We do this to make sure that it is easier to budget on. There are no big charges. This also means that in July when we don't have school-you will still make a payment. Because they have been broken out over 12 months. There is a multiple student discount. $5 off each additional student.

Make-up Classes:
Regularly attending your own class provides your child with consistency, familiarity, and adds to the synergy of the class.  We do not guarantee make-ups or give refunds for missed classes.  If you must miss a class, you may attend another in its place if one is available.  We also always offer a prerecorded online lesson, if you need to miss a class. Special arrangements can be made for extended sickness or injury.  Please understand that we are occasionally unable to provide visiting students with a keyboard because many classes are full.

Class Schedules:
We follow the Davis County School calendar for major holiday breaks; as a result, some months will have more classes than others.

Scheduling Changes:
Whenever possible we will keep class times consistent from semester to semester.  However, there are occasions when changes are unavoidable.  If this happens to our class, we will do our best to accommodate you and will provide as many options as possible.

Program Withdrawals:
A 30 days prior written notice is required if your child is dropping from our program.  Simply informing the teacher does not constitute “notice”.  Please send your notice directly to Jamie Garner via Email/Mail.  Please help us to make our program better by telling us why you are dropping and how we can improve.  Unpaid balances are charged at the rate of 1 ½% per month (18%APR).

Classroom Discipline:
Teachers have been instructed to leave discipline issues to be handled by the parents.  Please be mindful of the other students in the class, so that all students have a great experience in class.

Contact Information:
Please make us aware of any address and/or phone number changes as soon as they become effective.

Class Etiquette:
  • Students should come to class well-prepared and with ALL of their necessary materials.
  • It is up to the parent to see that the student arrives ON TIME at each lesson.  If there is a problem with coming to a lesson, please contact us as soon as possible.
  • No gum, candy, food or drinks are allowed in class except for treats given to students by the teacher.
  • In order to minimize classroom interruptions, please have your students use the bathroom before class.
  • PLEASE DO NOT BRING SIBLINGS OR FRIENDS TO CLASS WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION. This can be a distraction as well as making class size unmanageable.
  • Parents should strive to be with students at class. This is a great opportunity to spend one on one time with your child.
  • Please do not talk with other adults during class time; this always hinders the student’s learning.  Also, please turn off cell phones, so that ringing doesn’t interrupt class.
